Today, 5/17, is Lansing Day (517... get it). In honor of the occasion, we are happy to welcome Tammy Hannah, Executive Director of mid-Michigan's Origami Brain Injury Rehabilitation Center, as a Resch Strategies guest blogger. Tammy just graduated in the inaugural class of the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Lansing program.
For the past eight months, I have been honored to be part of the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce’s inaugural Leadership Lansing Program. Through this Program, I was able to experience the Greater Lansing Region at a whole new depth of understanding. I learned from some of the most well-respected, effective leaders in the area and toured various companies, all of which has left a profound impression. I developed connections with classmates that has led to lasting friendships and business relationships. The vast number of resources and professional development gained has had a significant impact. It has motivated me to play a more active role in the community in an effort to continue to make Lansing a great place to work, live, and enjoy. The Resch Strategies Leadership Lansing Scholarship provided me with this unique experience – an experience I wouldn’t have likely considered pursuing without the scholarship opportunity.
As an Executive Director of a non-profit organization, I found substantial value in participating amongst the various for-profits in the area. There were many opportunities to learn from each other and bounce ideas back and forth. In thinking about moving Lansing forward, attracting and retaining talent, it is critical for the non-profit communities and for-profit sectors to come together in this way. Resch Strategies Scholarship fosters such a fundamental relationship.
It’s organizations like Resch Strategies and Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce’s investment in the future leaders in the area that will continue to foster strong leaders who remain in and contribute to the Greater Lansing Region.
