February 13 was a tragic day that people in mid-Michigan and across the state will remember for a very long time. A mass shooting on the campus of Michigan State University paralyzed a community for hours. Lockdowns were ordered and a manhunt launched. People turned to police scanners, texts, Twitter, and news sites for any information about what was happening.
When news first broke, Rachel Louise Just and Beth LeBlanc didn’t stay home. They drove to the scene. Rachel, a political TV reporter for Sinclair Broadcasting, and Beth, a political reporter for the Detroit News, covered the chaos firsthand.
