40 years ago, a former famous movie and TV star, Jenny Maxwell, was executed in front of her Hollywood condo. 40 years later, a distant relative and former newspaper man here in Michigan solved the mystery around the murder, brought closure to his family, and wrote a book about the entire affair.

Buddy Moorehouse reported for and edited the Livingston County Daily Press and Argus for 26 years. He’s won awards for his column writing and produced documentaries that have aired on ABC and PBS.  During the last two years, he set out to solve a murder mystery that had troubled his family for decades.

Buddy solved the mystery, wrote a book about it, “Murder of an Elvis Girl: Solving the Jenny Maxwell Case,” and is our guest on today’s episode.

It’s a cold case version of the Cold Oatmeal Podcast, and it’s a good one.
