I got an invitation to my 20th college reunion in mail last week. For anyone facing a 40th, 30th, or even 21st, I’m likely not deserving of much pity, but it is still a pretty hard thing for me comprehend. 20 years is so long, and 20 years goes by so fast.
More to the point of this post, however, the 20-year reminder of my graduation is also a reminder that I have lived for 20 years in Lansing, MI. That is even harder to comprehend.
It was never supposed to be this way when I arrived for my first day as a “professional” in October of 1997. But here I am, still, 20 years later. Married. Kids. A business. A dog. Lansing is now home to many friends. It is home to our church and our children’s school. It is home to our work. It is home to our home.
Lansing is home and over the last couple years, Resch Strategies has been grateful to be able to contribute to a little home improvement.

The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce Leadership Lansing program is an effort to identify, teach and connect both new and established leaders in our community. The program is about to welcome its third class, and Resch Strategies is proud to announce the fourth recipient (last year we had two) of our Leadership Lansing scholarship. We established the scholarship to help leaders of non-profit organizations participate in the program.
Like Tammy, Pam and Rachel before her, we’ve loved meeting Barb and learning about the gallery and her work. In fact, it’s the meeting and learning part that has probably been the most rewarding aspect about the creation and implementation of our scholarship. Origami Brian Injury Rehabilitation Center, the Davies Project, First Tee of Mid-Michigan and now the Lansing Art Gallery and Education Center are wonderful community assets. We are fortunate to know them and proud to support them in improving our home.
